America’s got talent. No, really, it does.
Certainly of late, based on the videos you see online, it appears that the only talent Americans possess is yelling at service industry workers. But Season 15 of America’s Got Talent is slated to come into American living rooms beginning on May 26th. The country is about to stand witness to the plethora of talents that exist within the nation’s borders.
Naturally, you can bet on it, and bettors have the rights and freedoms to express their opinions on a number of America’s Got Talent-related prop wagers.
Who will be the winner? What sort of act will they be? And what of Archie Williams, America’s new heartthrob? Is this competition his to lose?
Odds on Winning Performance of 2020 America’s Got Talent
Type of Act | Odds |
---|---|
Music Act | -190 |
Magic Act | +400 |
Ventriloquist Act | +600 |
Dance Act | +650 |
Comedy Act | +750 |
Any Other Type of Act | +250 |
Odds taken May 25th.
In 14 previous America’s Got Talent competitions, 50% of winners sang their way to the title. Surprisingly, ventriloquists are next with three titles. They’re followed by their fellow future-children’s-birthday-party entertainers, magicians, with two victories.
One title was won by a dancer, and one by a dog act. Comedians, as Rodney Dangerfield frequently noted, get no respect. They’ve also got no America’s Got Talent titles.
Pick: Music Act (-190)
Gender of Winning Performer of 2020 America’s Got Talent
Sex of Performer | Odds |
---|---|
Male | -450 |
Female | +300 |
Mixed | +800 |
Transgender | +4000 |
When it comes to America’s Got Talent, it’s a man’s world. Ten of the 14 performers to win the coveted crown have been male.
While females do own three titles, it’s a fact to state that a woman has never emerged as the America’s Got Talent champion. All three of these wins were by children – two 12-year-olds and one 11-year-old.
In 2012, the Olate Dogs – a team of two men and several four-legged entertainers – won the only group title in the show’s history.
Pick: Male (-450)
Will a Group or Solo Performer win 2020 America’s Got Talent?
America likes to believe it’s the country of the rugged individual, and they pretty much are until you tell them they can’t get a haircut or go to Applebee’s for mozzarella sticks.
America’s Got Talent is a true barometer of America and its belief in the rights of the individual. In 14 years, only one group has copped the crown. And they were barely a group – two men and a gaggle of pooches who comprised the Olate Dogs.
Are you going to go against hundreds of years of American tradition? If you don’t think America is all about the individual, then you go ahead and try to merge on the interstate during rush hour.
Pick: Solo Act (-190).

Clearly, the early favorite to win the 2020 edition of America’s Got Talent will be Archie Williams. The 59-year-old Williams was imprisoned from 1982-2019 for a crime he did not commit. The Innocence Project helped to prove he wasn’t the perpetrator of the crime via DNA evidence and gain his release from prison.
During his audition, Williams shared his heartbreaking story with the judges. Then he brought the house down, performing a rendition of the Elton John song Don’t Let The Sun Go Down On Me.
This is Archie Williams. I will never forget this audition for the rest of my life. And I’ll never listen to this song in the same way ever again. pic.twitter.com/UCco7OwdGx

There’s no doubt that this is a uniquely sad story with an albeit way too late happy ending. But is it enough to gain Williams the 2020 AGT crown? Probably not.
His story will drive ratings but as the title of the show suggests, it’s talent that wins the title.
Pick: No on both props

Will 2020 AGT Winning Act Include Animals? | -4000 | +1000 |
Will a Child Win 2020 AGT? | -250 | +170 |
The first-ever winner of America’s Got Talent was 11-year-old singer Bianca Ryan in 2006. A decade later, 12-year-old singer Grace VanderWaal copped the crown. And in 2017, ventriloquist Darci Lynne Farmer, also 12, captured the championship.
That’s three kids in 14 years. That works out to 21.4% of winners, or less than a one-in-four shot.
The odds are much longer when it comes to animals. As mentioned earlier, the Olate Dogs won in 2012. That’s the only time the victor wasn’t an individual human.
You can say a lot of things about American’s Got Talent but the fact of the matter is that AGT has only gone to the dogs once.
Pick: No on both props

read more +We’re just two audition episodes deep, but it’s pretty clear already that America’s Got Talent season 15 is going to be emotional.
That’s honestly already the case, as a group of homeless singers got the first Golden Buzzer and an exonerated convict finally got a deserving taste of vindication.
Both acts were deserving of being voted through by the judges, and episode two brought even more entertaining acts that got the nod. In fact, we got another Golden Buzzer, with Sofia Vergara connecting with 10-year-old singer Roberta Battaglia.
I approve of that Golden Buzzer, too, as the girl was beyond her years with a powerful rendition of “Shallow.”
After taking an early look at what act could win America’s Got Talent season 15 not too long ago, I’m back for a fresh take ahead of episode three.
You can already bet on what act will win at the best America’s Got Talent betting sites, and hopefully, my insight will prove useful. A lot more auditions will come, but it may be wise to hop on your favorite wager ahead of time.
With that, let’s take a look at the latest America’s Got Talent 2020 odds and try to gauge the best way to bet this season.
Through just two episodes, season 15 of AGT is already starting to take form. It’s a powerful season of vindication, some really compelling storylines, and some truly impressive talent.
More powerhouse performances are on their way, but what we’ve seen already may be a pretty good indication of how we should bet on America’s Got Talent this season.
A music act was the favorite to win season 15 when I broke things down following episode one, and another episode later, that remains the case.
That said, the “any” wager is pretty appealing, as it rolls everything into one tiny ball. Is it as easy as betting on a music act or “any” to win? Perhaps, but it may make sense to break down the best bets and some sleepers before making a final decision.
Top Contenders
- Roberta Battaglia
- Voices of Our City Choir
- Archie Williams
- Bello Sisters
- Florian Sainvet
This list is both subjective in that these are the acts I’d rank as the top threats to win season 15 of America’s Got Talent, and I’m also just assuming they’d have some of the best AGT odds.
Pricing isn’t out for specific acts just yet, but these are among the very best. Could I be short-changing an act or two, and are more acts going to come along and be deserving? That’s an emphatic double “yes.”
That said, Battaglia may have stolen the show in the early going here, as the 10-year-old delivered a knockout performance in episode two and instantly received a ticket to the live shows.
Voices of Our City Choir have a great story and were impressive enough to get a Golden Buzzer of their own, so you have to keep the only two guaranteed live show acts in contention.
Archie Williams gives us a third reason to back a music act at -200 at BetOnline, as the wrongly convicted singer has talent and narrative on his side.
The Bello Sisters would qualify as “any” or perhaps even a dance act, but I’d be inclined to stick with the former wager. They’ll need to enhance their show from here, but their balance, focus, style, and strength were very impressive.
There’s also Florian Sainvet, who displayed extremely fast hands and excellent showmanship in a subtle yet thoroughly impressive magic act.
You can aim a bit higher with him (+550), but magic acts usually don’t go the distance in this competition.

Potential Sleepers
Oddschecker Football
- Bonavega
- Double Dragon
- Kelvin Dukes
- Vincent Marcus
- Thomas Day
It’s early in the process, but some sleepers are emerging. Is Bonavega an elite performer? No, but there’s no denying he’s very entertaining, while his voice is honestly not bad, either.
You can’t say that guy isn’t fun.
America's Got Talent The Champions Betting Odds
He promised to take things up a notch as he advances, so it will be interesting to see if he pans out as a gimmick or ends up being as enthralling as he was during his audition.
Double Dragon may not have the chops to take down some of the other music acts, but the twin sisters are vivacious and have surprisingly powerful vocals. They’re a nice little sleeper, especially since the music act wager is gaining so much steam.
The same goes for Kelvin Dukes. He isn’t better than Roberta Battaglia, but his voice is very fluid, he has better stage presence, and he has an amazing personality. He’s another sleeper worth tracking, while he makes the music act wager even safer.
Thomas Day is one more singer who further cements the music act wager for me, as he was captivating during his take on “Break My Heart Again” was pretty effortless. I’ll need to see more range, but his ability to reel everyone in with that song can’t go unnoticed.
Lastly, there’s also Vincent Marcus, who is an impersonation artist. He may need to add something to his act or have his various impressions “converse” with each other in a storyline, but the talent is there to go far.
Who Will Win America’s Got Talent 2020?
You aren’t yet able to bet on which act will win season 15 of America’s Got Talent. If/when that time comes, I’m all-in on Roberta Battaglia.
She is just absurdly advanced for a 10-year-old. Her tone, her power, and her control were all fantastic in her audition. When you factor in her age and nerves, it’s easy to see her only getting better from here.
America's Got Talent The Champions Betting Odds 2020
Battaglia also has a natural edge, as she’s guaranteed to be at the live shows, while the judges clearly already love her. This gives her extra time to hone her craft and pick a great follow-up song, and it obviously also prevents her from getting axed in the near future.
Naturally, this takes us to the music act wager, but even if you’re not with me there, I think that’s the best bet.
There are just so many awesome music acts already, and we’re only two episodes deep. America’s Got Talent has also generated a slew of singers as the ultimate winner, so what we’ve seen so far makes that -200 bet stand out ahead of everything else.
