The Kansas City Chiefs secured the lone bye week in the AFC way back in Week 16. They’re getting back to practice today with a focus strictly on the playoffs. In our last check-in on the betting odds, the Chiefs were monster favorites to win the AFC West. They, of course, managed to win their fifth-straight AFC West title this season. The Chiefs remain on top as favorites to win the AFC conference. The team is currently listed with +100 odds which gives them a 50% implied probability to win the AFC Championship Game and get back to another Super Bowl. If you bet $100 on them at the current odds and they win, you’d win $100.

The Buffalo Bills are fairly close behind the Chiefs with +375 odds to win the AFC conference. During our last check-in, it was actually the Pittsburgh Steelers and they’ve fallen off a bit, with the +1400 odds. That’s the fourth-highest odds behind the Baltimore Ravens (+700). It’d seem that the Bills have some newfound confidence from the oddsmakers given their performances to end the season.

Super Bowl LV

When we last checked in on the Super Bowl LV odds during the Chiefs’ regular-season bye week, the Chiefs were favored with +350 odds. Their odds to win Super Bowl LV have increased in the final weeks of the season ever so slightly. They have a 28.6% implied probability of winning their second ring in as many years. If you were to bet $100 on them at the current odds and they win, you’d win $250.

During our last check-in, it was actually the Steelers who were trailing the Chiefs in the Super Bowl LV betting odds. Right now, it’s the Green Bay Packers (+550) followed by the Buffalo Bills (+700). Those two teams are clearly perceived as the biggest threat to a repeat Super Bowl win for Kansas City. Right now, if you were to bet on the exact outcome of Super Bowl LV, the Chiefs defeating the Packers is the favorite with +900 odds.

The defending champion Chiefs need to win by at least 4 points in order to cover the spread in Super Bowl 55. It would take a $100 bet to earn a profit of $100 if they succeed.

The Buccaneers can cover the 3.5-point spread either by winning outright in an upset or by staying within 3 points in a loss. Their side of the spread requires a $120 bet for a profit of $100.
